New Self-Drive Map to discover Kimberley Aboriginal Artists
A new Self-Drive Map has been developed to help visitors access the four art centres which make up the Kimberley Aboriginal Artists alliance.
The map helps visitors to be part of a special journey and to gain a closer insight into Aboriginal art, language and identity.
The detailed map of the Kimberley region clearly indicates how to access each art centre. Each art centre's contact details, address and opening hours are outlined, as well as a summary on the type of art showcased.
The map allows visitors to take their own journey across the northwest of Australia and view the unique artwork produced by Kimberley Aboriginal Artists. Visitors may also have the opportunity to interact with the artists and watch them work.
Kimberley Aboriginal Artists is a powerful alliance made up of four art centres including Mangkaja Arts, Mowanjum Art and Cultural centre, Waringarri Aboriginal Arts and Warmun Art Centre.
The art centres are Aboriginal owned and governed, with all proceeds from the sale of art returned to the artists and their community.
